From the Bookshelf™ is a free, interactive library for young readers, teachers, and parents that features high quality children’s books written by award-winning authors. This new initiative continues the Foundation’s mission and vision by now offering free access to original, high-quality children’s literature.

On our library shelves you’ll discover Voices in History, an engaging biography series consisting of twenty-four titles. Our biographies retell the full and fantastic lives of some of history’s most incredible people: scientists and artists, leaders and inventors, authors and athletes. The subject of each biography directly connects to the Core Knowledge Sequence by grade level, as well as to Core Knowledge curriculum materials across a range of subjects, including Language Arts, History, Science, Music, and Arts.

In addition to the Voices in History™ biographies, the library also contains the first in a Collection of Tales™ series. The Free Library’s first title in this series is Tales from Latin America and the Caribbean.

More biography titles, collections of tales, and a brand-new series based on real and extraordinary events in history will be available later in 2025.
